Day 4 and a Science experiment was the first order of business! We called the experiment ‘Colour changing milk’. So, it was an introduction to; ‘chemistry’. The process was simple- mixing two things together and seeing what happens..now isn't that chemistry?
The children watched in wonder as milk, mixed with liquid soap caused the combining of molecules and separation of the fats. Then with a little food colouring introduced, there was an explosion of colour! The reaction was unpredictable and wonderous. Better yet, the looks on the faces of the children! Priceless! The children tested the control by varying the process and tried to make their own predictions, A most interesting experience as depicted below!
The older children have been attempting to make 3d models of dinosaurs to add on to our ‘Jurassic World’. We decided to include some 'fossil's and 'dinosaur eggs' moulded, using a particular type of playdough,
The dinosaur hats were given a final check to complete this project and to be taken home on tomorrow.
Lunch was followed by a cookery project for our afternoon snack. We made 'dino-jello'.
