Summer Slam 2018 Week 1 - July 16

Hello Parents,

What a day! One couldn't have gone wrong when the day starts with getting the Summer Slam T-shirt and then, doing a conga line to the sounds of the 'Miami Sound Machine'!  So, 'boom box' typically over the shoulder we 'conga-lined' to every corner of the changed environment, once, and not too long ago (Friday, in fact!)  known as 'school'.  This exercise was carried out so the children would know the areas of activity and where to go and what to do.

Coach Annie kicked off Summer Slam 2018 with a robust programme of 'proper' gymnastics. As you can see from the clip, some have got their poses right already!  It would help if children wear tights or jammers on all days as we have gymnastics and rhythmic movement on alternate days through the week.

Lunch with the 'juice bar'! Now isn't that 'fresh'?  We plan to have a  juice bar available to the children at lunch on all days. You are reminded to inform us of allergies if any!

Then - fashion and doing a customised design for T-shirts.  You will be able to appreciate the wonder of creativity as the T-shirts come home on Friday!

Never passing up a chance to dive into Montessori learning, we coloured 'rice'!  The next phase will be to use the material for an art project!  Surprise!

Sports and Snack
Coach Dennis, a former varsity player  (Accountant on a normal day), ably assisted by Sathis began the week-long course in basketball.  History of the game, rules of the game, drills and handling were achieved today
